MIDFIELD maestro Shane Henry celebrated his 26th birthday this week and would like nothing more than helping his side to three points on Saturday against an in-form Grantham Town side.
Henry said: "We need to kick on now and go on a run because we are in a strong position with games in hand and I believe the title is still there to challenge for. There are a lot of games to be played and I believe we have the squad to push Blyth all the way. They have to come to us and if we can build up momentum by going on a winning run then who knows?”
The Stockton-based schemer has made 125 appearances and scored 20 goals for the Moors since joining from Whitby Town in the summer of 2014. He says Saturday's postponement at Skelmersdale United was a frustrating day for everyone.
"Saturday was a great opportunity for us to go there and get an a much-needed away win. That was the plan, especially after two good home wins against Hednesford and Coalville, but it was frustrating to be the only game off in the league, as I think it would have given us the platform to move up to second in the table.”
Henry maintains that, despite a possible run of midweek trips on the road, the squad at The Brewery Field is more than capable of making their games in hand count, starting against Grantham Town on Saturday.
"We have an unbelievable squad. You look around the dressing room and there is real quality, with strong competition for places. There are lads who have played Conference football and established themselves at that level, with others who have won this league. So we have a lot of experience which will hopefully stand us in good stead.”
