The club can tonight confirm that midfielder Andrew Stephenson has left the club and joined South Shields FC for an undisclosed fee.
After a memorable four and a half years with Moors, Andrew has moved on for a new challenge and leaves behind many fond memories of strong attacking performances. He was also a member of the FA Vase winning squad of 2012/13.
Andrew was Moors’ third longest-serving player with 190 appearances and 51 goals.
Manager Jason Ainsley said: “We’ve agreed a fee for Andrew with South Shields. He’s been with me for a long time and has played a massive part in what we have built here over the years.
“After speaking with Andrew a number of times over the last couple of weeks we both felt it was in both his and the club’s interests for him to have a fresh start and we wish him all the very best at his new club.”
Upon leaving the club, Andrew said: “I achieved a lot at Spennymoor and only have great memories from my time there. It was a very difficult one to leave them, but I’m excited about the challenge ahead.”
