We're saddened to announce that former Spennymoor United, Hartlepool United and Consett winger Jack O'Connor passed away at the weekend.
The club is planning a minute of silence ahead of the game against Blyth Spartans on Tuesday 28 February.
Still living in Ushaw Moor, near Durham, Jack was thought of affectionately as a big character by many people connected with the clubs he played for.
Jack spent nine years with Spennymoor United in the 1950s after rejecting a move to Leeds United in favour of working in the coal mines.
Jack had been battling stomach cancer for the last four years and has been honoured in the Durham Advertiser this week. See more here.
