The Robins were reformed in 2010 following the demise of Ilkeston Town, and after winning promotion from the Evo-Stik Southern Division in their first season, have competed in the Premier Division ever since. They reached the Final of the play-offs in 2015 before losing to Curzon Ashton.
Currently in 23rd position, Ilkeston appointed former Manchester City striker Shaun Goater as Manager in February. He recently led them to their first victory in four months, with a 1-0 win over Frickley Athletic.

The Gaffer says:
"Thursday night is a must win game as it's the last one of our games in hand, therefore the importance of picking up three points is crucial especially as it will provide a three point cushion over Nantwich and set us up for the final five games of the campaign. After Tuesday night's win at Matlock, this gives us a great opportunity to kick on, and, as long as we're professional and enter the game with the same attitude and application as we have done recently, then I'm confident of us getting the right result".
