NEWS: Board structure updates

The Club can today announce a series of changes to the Board structure that have been made to allow the Club to maximise efficiency and autonomy as we move into the National League North.

Firstly, Board Member Billy Beasley has stepped down from his official capacity at the club.  Billy isn’t able to continue the considerable commitment that he has given Spennymoor Town over the years, which would only have increased as we move up a league.

Trevor Beaumont will continue as Club President and Bradley Groves’ official title is CEO.  Phil Ball will continue as Director of Grants and Regeneration, while Matthew Herrell will continue as Director of Finance.

Other familiar Directors have been reinstated as a management team with greater autonomy than ever to run the club on a day-to-day basis.  They comprise:

Steven Lawson, General Manager

Mike Rowcroft, Head of Supporter Engagement

Adam Brown, Head of PR and Media

Paul Johnson, Head of Finance

Chris Pomfret, Head of Match Day Hospitality

Ian Hubbard, General Manager of The Moors Tavern/Events

David Leitch, Club Secretary

The Management Team on the football side remains as follows:

Jason Ainsley, First Team Manager

Tommy Miller, Assistant Manager

Alan White, First Team Coach

Andrew Oates, First Team Physiotherapist

Barry Farr, First Team Goalkeeper Coach

Tommy Miller Snr, Head of Recruitment

Bradley Groves, CEO and Chairman of Spennymoor Town FC, said: “We’ve rearranged our board slightly to allow our management team more power to run the club on a day-to-day basis.  We have more resource this season, including some staff at Great Annual Savings Group, to work with the club and help it run better than ever.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to Billy Beasley, who was not only instrumental in bringing me to the club, but has been a brilliant servant and ambassador to the football club and the town.  I know we’ll see plenty of him around the club regardless of him being in an official capacity.

“With the installation of the management team, I’ve created space on the board, which I’ll be looking to fill in coming weeks and months with new members and investors, who we are looking to bring in to give the club a more varied stakeholder base.”

More announcements regarding the board and further club developments will be made in coming weeks.
