Spennymoor Town have today announced the loan signing of striking starlet Jake Orrell from Hartlepool United.
The 19-year-old signed for Spennymoor yesterday evening and will be playing at The Brewery Field for the next month.
The Sunderland-born forward will be Manager Jason Ainsley’s second loan signing of the season, following the arrival of Gateshead midfielder Thomas White in January.
Orrell said: “I’m looking forward to it and hopefully I can get some games under my belt.
“I want to be playing some competitive football and I know that will be better for me so I want to go to Spennymoor and show everyone what I can do.
“I know that the people at Pools will be keeping an eye on my progress while I am there so I just want to use this as an opportunity to impress - hopefully that helps me and it helps Spennymoor.”
The Football league youngster joined Pools at the start of this season from Chesterfield, but is yet to feature in SkyBet League Two. He has been restricted to only three first team appearances in cups this season, with only one start.
Ainsley said: “Jake is a talented young lad who is bright and alert around penalty area with good touch and control. We've watched a lot of the reserve games and Hartlepool were reluctant to let him out at the time, but fortunately things have changed.
“Jake will add good competition to our squad in the busy schedule coming up.”
Orrell won't join Spennymoor until after this Saturday's game at home to Buxton as he waits for clearance to complete the move.
