With considerable investment, including a full refurbishment, The Moors Tavern is now a traditional community pub designed to appeal not only to all those linked to the football club using it as a social hub before and after matches, but importantly as a focal point for local residents and families keen to see a well-loved local pub available to them seven days a week.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a reputation for achievement. Someone capable of developing and running a thriving community venue, and whilst responsible for all operations, accustomed and willing to undertake all aspects of hospitality, with a clear “roll your sleeves up and muck in” attitude. You will be a skilled recruiter and developer of your people, but a stickler for standards and financially astute to know your bottom line.
We want someone dynamic and inspirational, with a vision for how a community pub should look and feel; how to attract new guests; and most importantly make them want to return time and time again. You will want to put your heart and soul into this role, believing that the culture and character you instil will become the culture and character of the establishment.
At a glance, this is what we would expect from you…
§ Complete responsibility for the running of the venue.
§ Overseeing quality and standards, which would include food.
§ Financial performance – full P&L accountability.

And to achieve this, we believe you would need to have…
§ A minimum of 3 to 5 years in a similar role, within a high financial turnover establishment.
§ An entrepreneurial flair; bursting with new ideas to further drive sales and standards.
§ An engaging personality, but informal and genuine with the ability to put people at ease and build relationships.
§ The ability to convert turnover into profit, hitting wage, food and liquor targets weekly.

Spennymoor Town FC is enjoying a successful period, with the team achieving several promotions and high profile national trophy wins over recent years. With the club’s latest step into the Evostik Northern Premier League Premier Division there is a jump in quality, exposure and professionalism.
