Appointed Manager of Spennymoor Town FC in June 2007 after previously being Assistant to Jamie Pollock during the 2006-07 Season which saw the club win the ANL 2nd Division Championship by a clear ten points. “God” as he is known in Spennymoor first joined the club in 1989 from Guisborough and has since went on to make over 400 appearances for the Moors and also play for Hartlepool United(£50,000 move), Barrow, Gateshead, Blyth, Durham City, Billingham Town and Horden aswell as spells in Australia and Singapore. Guided the Club to a 4th place finish last season finishing just two points behind the winners, and also a place in the last 16 of the F.A.Vase.

  

Darren_Roulston_email_02Assistant Manager:  Darren Roulston               
Fourth season with club and second as Assistant, following two seasons as player coach. Darren has represented Gretna, Bishop Auckland, Thornaby and Horden in the region while he can still do a good job at full back when called upon. Along with Manager Jason Ainsley, twice an F.A. Sunday Cup winner with Hetton Lyons at Anfield.

Andy is a fully qualified Sports Physiotherapist who works at Darlington Memorial Hospital. Fourth season at Club after a spell at Durham City.

Simon_Bishop_emailPlayer Name: Simon Bishop

Signed from Tow Law Town in November 2009 for his second spell at Spennymoor. Simon has played over 200 games for Barrow in the UniBond League and also had spells at Bishop Auckland, Stalybridge Celtic & Gateshead. The Middlesbrough born stopper has also got Northern League experience at Dunston, Northallerton and Guisborough Town. Simon also plays for Hartlepool United in the Masters Football Tournament.

 

Craig_Turns_email Player Name: Craig Turns
Craig Turns – Vastly experienced goalkeeper with UniBond League and Conference experience who joined Spennymoor from Blyth Spartans in October 2009. This 25 year old shot stopper started his career with Sunderland before making 150 appearances for Blyth and was also a UniBond North Championship winner with Durham City in May 2009. Previously with Consett.

 

 Defenders

Club captain now in his 4th season after joining from Tow Law Town where he spent four seasons and was also skipper. This is Carl’s second spell with his hometown club and is 100% committed to the cause at full back and a firm favourite with the Moors fans.

Former England Schoolboy International and Darlington player who is a former youth team player of the year with the quakers, including making his first team debut at Stockport County. Chris is a quality defender who is comfortable at either left back of centre back and the club beat off fierce competition to sign the former Harrogate Town, Gateshead and Shildon defender during the summer. Had a brief spell in Sweden playing for Ostavalls IF.

 

Lewis_Dodds_email_02Player Name :  Lewis Dodds          

23 year old former England Schoolboy International who joined his hometown club from Durham City in August 2009. Started his career with Sunderland and was a reserve regular before winning back to back championships with Durham City. A fully committed player with a never say day attitdude, Lewis is a fantastic signing for Spennymoor Town FC.

Summer signing from Sunderland Nissan where he was ever present last season following his release from Bradford City. Young defender with bags of potential who likes to get forward at every opportunity.

Re-joined Spennymoor for a second spell in August 2009 from Durham City.  Originally joined from Newcastle Blue Star in the summer of 2007 before joining Durham in December the same season.  A former League winner with Bedlington and Durham who brings bags of experience to the squad.

Summer signing from Sunderland Nissan where he was captain last season. 27 year old classy defender who is comfortable on the ball, good in the air and an excellent reader of the game. Previous clubs Middlesbrough, Hartlepool United and Durham City.

26 year old Dublin Born defender who captained the Republic Of Ireland in the FIFA World Youth Championships in 2003 and also in the UEFA European U-19 Championships in Norway. Capper was a reserve regular at Sunderland before joining Scarborough in the Conference. After winning back to back championships with Durham City, where he brought much attention to Football League clubs, this quality over lapping full back or midfield player joined Spennymoor in August 2009.

24 year old full back who made the switch from Dunston UTS in February 2010. Kenny played almost 100 games for Blyth Spartans in the Conference North, where he was picked up from his local club Whickham.

Joined from Dunston UTS in February 2010. Won back to back Championships with Durham City in the Northern League and UniBond Division One North. Combative midfielder who is comfortable either playing through the middle or out wide.

Third season with Club after spending two contracted seasons with Whitby Town. Came up through the youth set up at Hartlepool Utd and had an impressive first season at the Club winning the Secretaries Player of the year and scoring eleven goals. Scored 15 goals last season and also had spells at Blyth Spartans & Newcastle Blue Star.

Former Republic of Ireland International and Sunderland academy player who lifted the Northern League Championship with Durham City in 2008. 26 year old, Dublin Born midfielder who has dropped down two leagues to play for The Moors this season. Previously with York City, Scarborough, Blyth Spartans and Gateshead.

 

Gary PearsonPlayer Name : Gary Pearson                   

Summer signing from Sunderland Nissan. Gary is a tough tackling Midfielder who poses a big presence in the middle of the park. Another former England Schoolboy International (6 caps) who started his career with Sheffield United, then switched to Stalybridge Celtic and Durham City. Returned to the Pro game with Darlington in League Two before moving onto York City and Gateshead. Twice an F.A. Sunday Cup winner with Hetton Lyons at Anfield including scoring in both finals.

Another former Hartlepool United Academy product who made 60 apperances for the youth & Reserve teams scoring ten goals in the 2007-08 season. Craig had a tremendous debut season at the Moors last season earning him the nickname “the little No 7″ which also attracted interest from several higher league clubs but he stayed loyal and featured in every Moors fixture last season. Voted Supporters player of the year and also shortlisted for the league’s young player of the year award.

Second season with the Moors. The essential cog in the Moors midfield, 24 year old schemer who was an F.A.Youth Cup winner with Middlesbrough and spent 18 months playing in League two with Darlington making 37 first team appearances. Another who had a fantastic debut season last term winning numerous man of the match awards and attracting interest from several higher league clubs.

The third player to move from Durham City during the summer. John scored ten goals during City’s Championship winning season last term, and joins the Moors for a second spell after also playing for Sunderland, Swindon Town and Seaham Red Star. A wide Midfield player or Striker, who worries defenders with his pace and close ball control. Can beat defenders on either side and is a regular scorer when both playing wide or through the middle.

Joined Spennymoor in September 2009 from Durham City. English scored 20 goals for City last season who brings bags of skill and experience to the squad. A former pro with Newcastle United, Queen of the South and Livingston, this 23 year old Easington born classy play maker has great vision, is a dead ball specialist who scores plenty of spectacular goals from open play.

 

Chris_Emms_emailPlayer Name :  Chris Emms
New signing from Conference North club Harrogate Town. Chris started his career with Middlesbrough then had spells in the Northern League with Peterlee and Billingham Town. Also spent two successful seasons with Newcastle Blue Star where he scored 11 goals last season. Very tricky schemer who can play on either flank to good effect. A welcome addition.

Joined the Moors from Horden CW in December 2009. 23 year old powerful Midfielder who regularly finds the net and has been named player of the year for the last three seasons at Horden. Previously with Sunderland Nissan.

21 year old striker who joined from Whitby Town where he finished top scorer last season for the seasiders. Strong bustling striker with a tremendous goalscoring ratio. Previously with Hartlepool United, Southport and Gateshead.

Joined Spennymoor in June 2009 from UniBond Premier Division Durham City, where he scored 22 goals in their Championship winning team last season. 26 year old Sunderland born striker who has a fantastic goalscoring record and is one of the most sought after players in the region. Previously top scorer for Sunderland Nissan. Another F.A. Sunday Cup winner with Hetton Lyons at Anfield in April 2008.

 

CrestPlayer Name : Matty Tymon

Signed on loan from Coca Cola League One Hartlepool United, this 19 year old striker has been a regular scorer for the youth and reserve teams at Victoria Park and signed a new contract in the summer. Matty has been in the first team squad on numerous occasions.

 

 

CrestPlayer Name : Mark Sheeran

Much travelled forward who started his career at Darlington, before spells at Whitby Town, Blyth Spartans, Whitley Bay, Benfield, Dunston, Newcastle Blue Star and this season Bedlington Terriers. Mark has an excellent goal scoring ratio and will be looking for that to continue in the black & white kit after completing a move to the Brewery Field in February 2010.
