Manager: Jason Ainsley
Bio:Appointed Manager in June 2007, “God” is a former Spennymoor United talisman who first joined the club in 1989 and went on to play for Hartlepool United(£50,000 move), Barrow, Blyth Spartans, Gateshead, Durham City and Billingham Town, as well as spells in Australia & Singapore. Since becoming Manager Jason has won the Northern League Second Division Championship and won back to back Northern League First Division Titles breaking records along the way. Also guided the club to the League Cup Final and twice the last 16 of the F.A.Vase.
Assistant Manager: Perry Briggs
Bio: Appointed as Jason’s Number two in May 2010 after previously managing Dunston UTS and most recently working as a coach at Bedlington Terriers. Perry has a wealth of Northern League knowledge as both a player and manager, therefore his experience will be invaluable this coming season.

Sports Physiotherapist: Andy Oates
Bio: Long serving Physio who is entering his 6th season at The Brewery Field. A popular and key member of the backroom staff.
Coach: Barry Farr
Bio: Goalkeeping coach who was appointed in December 2009 after previously working with Durham City for a number of years.
Player Name: Craig Turns

: Goalkeeper
Bio: Former Sunderland Goalkeeper, Craig joined shortly after the start of the successful 2009-2010 campaign and established a fast growing reputation as one of the best keepers in the North East Non League Scene. Craig has kept an impressive 28 clean sheets since arriving from Blue Square North Club Blyth Spartans where he made 150 appearances in two spells, and previously won the UniBond League with Durham City the season before.

Bio: Highly rated Goalkeeper previously on the books at Middlesbrough and won player of the year at Stokesley in 2010.
Player Name: Chris Mason
Position
: Defender
Bio: Chris has been one of the most consistent players over the last two seasons, cutting a powerful figure in the centre of the defence and one who leads by example after joining from Shildon. Started his career with Darlington, represented England at Schoolboy level and had a spell playing in Sweden for Ostavalls IF. Previously played for Harrogate Town and Gateshead.

     

Player Name: Kallum Griffiths

: Defender
Bio: Right-sided defender, Kallum Griffiths, joined Spennymoor from Sunderland Nissan in the summer of 2009. Kallum, who developed his football skills in the youth and reserve teams at Bradford City, had joined Nissan in the summer of 2008. He has shown maturity after impressive displays for the past two successful seasons landing back to back titles at such a young age.
Player Name: Paul Stephenson
Position
: Defender
Bio: Tall, commanding central defender, a fine header of a ball and comfortable with the ball at his feet. An excellent reader of the game and another leader at the heart of the defence. Started his career with Middlesbrough before spells at Durham City and Sunderland Nissan where he was captain at both clubs. Signed for Spennymoor in the summer of 2009.
Player Name: Stephen Capper
Position
: Defender
Bio: 27 year old Dublin Born defender who captained the Republic Of Ireland in the FIFA World Youth Championships in 2003 and also in the UEFA European U-19 Championships in Norway. Capper also has U-21 caps and was a reserve regular at Sunderland before spells at Scarborough and Durham City in 2007. This quality over lapping full back or midfield player joined Spennymoor in August 2009 and has scored 17 goals, winning numerous accolades in his first two seasons at the Brewery Field.

Bio: Michael is an indomitable presence in the back-line; he seldom shirks a challenge and scored 10 goals in his debut season at the Moors winning both the Player of the Year and Supporters Player of the Year.Previously with Northampton Town, Blyth Spartans, Whitby Town, Dunston UTS & Durham City.
Player Name: Leon Ryan
Position
: Defender
Bio: Joined Spennymoor in the summer of 2010. An Experienced centre-half who possesses a distinguished record in non-league football for a small handful of clubs. Came through the youth ranks at Middlesbrough prior to moves to Halifax Town and Scunthorpe United, before dropping into the Northern League scene with Whitley Bay and Durham City. A move back to Whitley Bay in the summer 2008 saw him win the F.A.Vase, then he completed a trio of winner’s medals in 2010 by captaining Whitley Bay to another F.A.Vase victory at Wembley. 28 year old Leon is a natural leader who was quickly appointed Club Captain since joining the Moors and was proud to lift the Northern League Championship Trophy in April.

Bio: Last Seasons Player of the Year at Shildon.  Jamie previously played 97 games for Gateshead scoring 30 goals as he was an inspirational figure in helping the Tynesiders to two consecutive promotions. Also played for Harrogate Town and WorksopTown.

: Defender
Bio: 36 year old vastly experienced defender who has played over 600 football league
games for Telford United, Woking, Bristol Rovers, Doncaster Rovers, Scunthorpe
United, Darlington and Mansfield. Steve was captain of Mansfield last season and
played in the F.A.Trophy Final at Wembley.
   
Player Name: Lewis Dodds
Position: Midfielder
Bio: A key component of the side, Lewis has proved to be the essential cog in the Moors midfield since joining from Durham City in the summer of 2009. Lewis is one of three players at the Club that have won four consecutive League Championships at Durham City and Spennymoor. A former England Schoolboy Captain and Sunderland player who has caught the eye of a number of Football League Clubs. A big fans favourite with a never say die attitude and a will to win.
Player Name: Calvin Smith
Position: Midfielder
Bio: Re-Joined from Blue Square North Club Blyth Spartans midway through last season. Calvin has scored some spectacular goals and put in some impressive performances for the Moors and is comfortable either playing through the middle or out wide. Previously with Dunston UTS and Durham City.
Player Name: Craig Ruddy
Position: Midfielder
Bio: Former Hartlepool United player who made 60 appearances for the Youth & Reserve teams at Victoria Park scoring ten goals in the 2007-08 season. Craig is now in his 4th season at the Moors and capped his first full season with the club by being nominated the Supporters’ Player of the Year after a fine personal campaign in a wide role supplying ammunition for the strikers. His lightening pace and eye for goal is always going to be a big attraction and another big season is predicted for this highly rated schemer who just gets better and better.
  Player Name: Anthony Peacock
Position: Midfielder
Bio: Anthony is now entering his 4th season with Spennymoor and has been an integral part in the clubs success during this time. Anthony was an F.A.Youth Cup winner with Middlesbrough and spent 18 months playing in League two with Darlington making 37 first team appearances. A top quality player and another big favourite at the club.

Bio: Former Captain of Shildon where he has spent the past five seasons. It’s no secret “Bobby” has been a long term target of the management team at the club and are delighted to finally have him on board. Previous club Mansfield.

Position: Midfielder
Bio: Re-Joined the Moors in the summer after playing last season for Bedlington Terriers and Sunderland RCA. This Dublin born midfielder played an important part of the 2010 championship winning side scoring 16 goals. A superb ball playing schemer who has also represented Republic of Ireland at junior level and was a reserve player at Sunderland. “Rasher” also played for York City, Blyth Spartans and Durham City.

Bio: Skilful and pacy winger who has scored a phenomenal 32 goals in two seasons at Shildon. Previously played for Whitby Town.
Player Name: Gavin Cogdon
Position
: Striker
Bio: As an instinctive and reliable finisher, Gavin’s name has featured routinely at the top of Non-League scoring charts in recent years. His debut season at Spennymoor yielded 22 league goals having earned a formidable reputation at Durham City, where he spearheaded the Unibond League Title charge in 2009 by netting over 20 times. Gavin has become one of the North East’s most sought after strikers

: Midfielder
Bio: Highly rated 19 year old central midfielder who joined the club in November 2011 following brief spells at Sunderland RCA and Billingham Synthonia in the Northern League. Kieran is a former England U17 International who spent a lengthy time at Middlesbrough from youth level to the reserves and following his release from the Riverside Stadium in 2010 he spent time playing in Iceland.

Bio: Last seasons top scorer returned to the club after a short stint at Bedlington Terriers. “Speedy” made his name at Durham City by scoring over 100 goals in three seasons leading them to two successive promotions before a move to Gateshead in the conference for one season in 2009-10. Steven runs the line well and is a prolific goalscorer.

Chris Lawther

Player Name: Chris Lawther
Position: Striker
Bio: Longest serving player at the club who is now entering his 7th Season at the Moors since joining from Local football. Chris has been an active member of the first team squad since making his debut – and scoring – in the 5-0 away win at Peterlee in 2005. Chris has spent much of his Moors career on the bench being used in a ‘super-sub’ role, where his lightning pace caused countless problems for tiring defences and he has responded by maturing with every game since.

Position: Striker
Bio: 22 year old front runner with a good pedigree having played for Whitby Town, Shildon, Stokesley and Norton before joining Spennymoor in September 2011. Sonny is a strong player, has bags of pace, a thunderous shot and a fantastic goalscoring record which brought the attention of a number of Football League Clubs just two seasons ago.
Player Name: Adam Johnston
Position: Striker
Bio: Adam returned to the club in November 2010 from Whitey Bay after previously finishing the clubs top scorer in 2007 helping the Moors win the Second Division Championship. Adam moved to Durham City midway through the following season and netted an impressive 31 goals as they won the Northern League Championship. Highly regarded as the best finisher in the league, Adam has since won two F.A.Vase Winners medals including scoring in the 2010 Final at Wembley.
