Spennymoor allowed themselves to be beaten by a very physical team, who play in a very similar manner to that of Sunderland RCA. In fact both teams seem to epitiomize how most good non-league teams play, resorting to dirty play when necessary. Yes,Spennymoor were poor defensively, but they have shown on previous occasions that they can cope with the type of football that is played by Stoke city in the Premier League. Ashington resorted to desperate fouling, in the the second half especially, when free kicks were given just outside the penalty area. It is regrettable that referees’in the Northern League
do not clamp down on fouling that would not be allowed by Preniership referees’. This said spennymoor cannot expect sympathy when defenders allow themselves to be pushed out of the way by a direct, and aggressive approach to playing football.

I follow the fortunes of Spennymoor Town via the web as I lived all over the world these last years … now settled in Norfolk ! My dear old Mum still lives in Spenny and I will be up to see her soon and take in a game !

It is amazing what you are doing, I take my cap off to you and also to Jason, he does a fantastic job.

You, the board, the management, the players and the supporters are doing a great job and I wish you every success in 2012 … I pray you can do the 3 back to back … what an achievement that would be … GOOD LUCK

First of all happy new year to every one at Spennymoor Town players mangement, ground staff adn every one else and not forgeting what must be the best supporters in the league.

Lets hope 2012 will see Moors with 3 consective titles and show the rest of the league just how much the club has risen from the ashes.

Good luck for the rest of the season everyone lets retain the title again

Well done.

I know that you are fully committed to making Spennymoor Town FC one if not the best club around where people will be proud to be associated with it.

You have good & ambitious people around you & in your Team Manager Jason, what alot of people do not realize is that he has been totally committed to Spennymoor ever since he first pulled that black & white shirt on many years ago & he will continue to give 150% to get the playing side of things right.

The club is also very lucky to have such passionate & devoted supporters & long may it continue.

All the very best for 2012 & beyond.

I sent my best wishes to you,the lads & all supporters via Billy on Friday night.

The outstanding success at Ashton underlines your capabilities as a Manager & motivator, I know ever since you came to Spennymoor all those years ago that you were a winner.

Everybody associated with Spennymoor Town FC must be very proud what was achieved on Saturday at Ashton, to win 3-0 was unbelievable but also expected by me.

May it long continue as Brad & all of the people that work hard to make the club a success thoroughly deserve it.

I was at the game last night as a neutral and in a groundhopping capacity
Thought you were by far the better team in the 1st half and passed the ball well- particularly for step 5 football
2nd half was a bit more even but if I was a Spennymoor fan, I would be unhappy at not getting at least a point- I’m surprised at the critical nature of comments on the forum but to be fair, I don’t watch them every week!

Dear all supporters, do any of you remember a Saturday during the 1960′s when Spenymoor played three games on the same day (last day of the season). My dad, Alan Iceton, played in the games and we were trying to find out some information about the day, and the fixture backlog that lead to this situation ?
