Spennymoor sponsor Peter Bennett is cycling 180 miles from London to Staffordshire to raise money towards the care of police survivors.
Bennett, who is on the national organising committee for the event, set up the charity ride in 2013 along with two British police officers after riding in the US Police Unity Tour for four years.
C.O.P.S is a UK registered charity dedicated to helping and offering support to the families of police officers who have lost their lives on duty.
Members of the police force, along with relatives of officers who have passed away while on service, will be taking part in the ride alongside Peter.
During the ride, each rider will wear a metal bracelet with the details of an officer who died on duty.
The event will take on even greater significance after the recent terror attacks in London and Manchester have shone the spotlight on the heroic efforts of the UK police force.
Peter is aiming to reach a target of £500 before he begins the event takes place between 28th and 30th July.
